Talking Barents
The Norwegian Barents Secretariat has during its 17 years of existance become a vital factor in the Norwegian-Russian relations in the north. The Barents Secretariat aims at being a regional centre for developing new project ideas, a competence centre for the Barents Region and a national centre for regional cross-border cooperation.
The Norwegian Barents Secretariat is an initiator in raising the general competence in Norway on Russian society and culture. The Secretariat’s staff is very competent on their different fields of expertise, and with the proximity to Russia and the Barents Sea development we get our own view on society and changes in the Norwegian and Russian parts of the Barents Region. This competence we try to pass on through web sites, publications and reports and through lectures and presentations.
The staff of the Norwegian Barents Secretariat is available for all kinds of requests where we are given the opportunity to contribute with our knowledge on Russia and Norwegian-Russian relations.
